Welcome to the NEXRAD interactive mapping service. If this is your first time using our services, please take a few moments to read the entire page before proceeding to the mapping site.
Using ArcIMS technology, a powerful GIS application, you can view the NEXRAD precipitation index across the state of Texas for the past seven days.
A layer is a set of data that can be made visible on the map by checking the box next to a layer's name in the map layers list. If the check box is disabled (gray), the layer cannot be seen at the current extent of the map. To zoom to the extent where the layer can be made visible, simply click the magnifying glass next to the layer's name.
Once a layer is made visible you will notice the layer's name is now a clickable link (underlined in blue). You may click on the layer's name to set it as the active selection layer. Upon selecting an active layer, you will notice its name is now highlighted in yellow.
When a layer is made active, this indicates that this is the layer selected for analysis. For example, the "Identify" tool will identify features from the layer set as active.
